Congratulations on a great start, and some suggestions

[edit]

This article looks like it could meet the criteria for WP:DYK, and also seems like a good candidate for WP:GA. Before moving to either of those, however, I would suggest two adjustments. First, the subject of the article should appear very soon in the lead sentence (and be in bold typeface). Second, and this isn't as pressing, could the references be converted to use citation templates? Identifiers like ISBNs, DOIs, or PMID/PMCIDs should be added to each reference at the very least. Aside from those minor issues, the article looks excellent! Emw2012 (talk) 14:46, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Additional Suggestions

[edit]

Hi

As part of a new article on Gilbert Ling and his association induction hypothesis I wrote a section on opposing concepts to the cell membrane theory. I think this article would be more historically accurate if it mentioned the 'battle' between membrane theory and bulk phase theories so I propose incorporation of the information in this section PaulGWiki (talk) 13:27, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Could a Green Florescent Protein-Sodium Pump fusion protein objetively disprove/limit Ling's hypothesis?

[edit]

I know - talk pages aren't for discussion of the topic. That said, the title basically says it all. I don't know if GFP could be used to tag the operation of a protein pump rather than just it's presence there (which would be rather useless if the pump is "always active"). I suppose if GFP has been used to tag parts of cell membrane or particular functions (GPRC operation perhaps), that might be relevant to the article. Jimw338 (talk) 15:54, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
