Dietary Guidelines 2015

[edit]

2015 is here and apparently new guidelines are in place.

A better direct reference to the changes? Hcobb (talk) 18:25, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Food pyramid date is wrong

[edit]

The food pyramid pre-dates the 1992 date by a significant amount. The citation doesn't support that it was new on that date. 76.21.107.77 (talk) 19:41, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Food pyramid (nutrition) describes an earlier pyramid in use in Sweden, but has 1992 for the first US date. Do you have a source for an earlier US use?Dialectric (talk) 19:44, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Four Food Groups Had Servings

[edit]

This article falsely states that servings were first introduced with the food pyramid. The four food groups had serving recommendations: 4 servings fruits and vegetables, 4 servings breads and cereals, 3 servings from the milk group, and 2 from meat. They recommended 4 servings of milk for pregnant women in the 80s.
