Mubarak assassinated Sadat?

[edit]

This lists that Mubarak assassinated Sadat, which is a claim that is not the consensus. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.74.230.179 (talk)

title

[edit]

Title was recently changed to History of Egypt under Hosni Mubarak from Mubarak era by Kurtis, who had the kindness to notify me.

I prefer "Mubarak Era" as it is shorter, has some currency among historians -- "Mubarak era" in quotation yields 1,480 hits in "Google Books" search -- and matches Sadat era article. Presidents in Egypt since Abdul Nasser have had enormous power and authority (not to mention a long period in office), so you don't have to be a fan of Mubarak to call his terms in office "Mubarak era". I'm not going to try and get it changed back unless there is some support by others for doing so. --BoogaLouie (talk) 15:18, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm... maybe we should have a community discussion about naming conventions? I'm somewhat neutral on it myself, and had renamed the article based on the fact that "History of Libya under Muammar Gaddafi" had seemingly followed some sort of precedent. In any case, my focus right now is actually on doing some copyediting for this article; I've even printed it out and am going through it with a pen to find spots that could use some editing. :-) Kurtis (talk) 21:43, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
