Structure
[edit]I think this would flow better if we did it chronologically, rather than on individual issues.
I was thinking perhaps:
- Postwar Australia
- The Sixties and Vietnam
- The Whitlam era
- Hawke, Keating and economic reform
- and then something for the last decade
Any thoughts? Rebecca 05:37, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit]In view of what is known about US intervention in Aust. politics against the ALP government at this time (key words: ASIO, Shackley Telegram, Marshall Green, etc.) based on facts which have become known 1972-2006 the following quote in chevrons is massive, biassed, and conservative ie Capital-friendly distortion: <<Whitlam's radical and imperious style eventually alienated many voters, and — after a series of ministerial scandals in 1975 — the Senate for the first time used its constitutional powers to block the government's budget. When Whitlam refused to back down, the Governor-General, Sir John Kerr, dismissed him on 11 November.>>
