Gaps
[edit]This has a lot of gaps. It does not talk about blacks working in labor unions, advances in wages and opportunities, many changes in the city during growth of auto industry. It also does not address the huge effects of loss of jobs during restructuring of auto industry and downsizing. Issues of civil rights - access to jobs in government and support services: police and fire, riots in Detroit, recovery and rebuilding, growth in political involvement and power, first black mayor, police chief, etc; city's economic difficulties and bankruptcy litigation. This seems to be mostly a demographic history of population growth and movement to the suburbs.Parkwells (talk) 13:36, 30 September 2017 (UTC)
