Sandwich crew incident under Martin White

[edit]

republished article from the 1973 Annual Bulletin of La Société Jersiaise Seems to indicate Martin White did Surveying from the Sandwich and also that there was "improper conduct by the master and crew" and her service was terminated. However the dates don't quite match up as far as I can tell.Djm-leighpark (talk) 09:29, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • I believe the O'Byrne source is written in quite a confusing way and that the date Martin White took the Sandwich was 6 April 1805 or just possibly 6 April 1804. Reading it this way is consistent with the timeline above in the source above where White is transferred from the Sandwich to the Manly in 1805. Thankyou.Djm-leighpark (talk) 21:02, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
