Please consider updating the the Wiki to include credit for the original idea for the legislation to Brad Lavite, Superintendent of the Veterans Assistance Commission of Madison County, Illinois, Honorably Discharged Operation Iraqi Freedom Combat Veteran and Retired Major United States Army Reserves.

Rodney L. Davis of Illinois's 13th congressional district introduced the bill into the United States House of Representatives during the 113th United States Congress, on November 13, 2013. The original idea for the Hire More Heroes Act is credited to Brad Lavite, Superintendent of the Veterans Assistance Commission of Madison County, Illinois, Honorably Discharged Operation Iraqi Freedom Combat Veteran and Retired Major United States Army Reserves.
