How are Hippopodes different from Ipotanes? RandyS0725 (talk) 19:59, 25 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • From what I gather, Hippopodes were said to be a specific (human) tribe with a pair of horses' legs, while Ipotanes were nature/fertility spirits that had additional equine characteristics (ears and tail), continuing the human-horse tradition of the the Satyr after the Romans changed Satyrs to human-goat beings.
