[edit]Coming right up! - Montréalais 16:11, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
She joined The Elders.
[edit]She is now a member of The Elders, and will contribute to their body of work. It is likely that she will do this as long as her health permits. It is a small group formed by Nelson Mandela to work on solutions for seemingly insurmountable problems, other prominent members include Jimmy Carter, Desmond Tutu and Kofi Annan. We will see what she contributes to the group. She will work with some truly astounding people, Kofi Annan is the current chairman of the group, and many members are former heads of state, or Nobel Peace Prize laureates. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.104.124.145 (talk) 17:22, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Human Rights Council discussion, 7 March 2012
[edit]"Human Rights Council holds panel discussion on discrimination and violence based on sexual orientation and gender identity: Hina Jilani, Chair of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan and former Special Representative of the Secretary-General on human rights defenders, speaking as a panellist, said that without such discussions as today’s panel the stark realities depicted in the High Commissioner’s report would continue to exist unchecked. There were no exceptions to the application of universal human rights, and all Governments had a duty to ensure those laws and rights were applied, and that perpetrators of human rights violations were ultimately brought to justice." http://www.ohchr.org/en/NewsEvents/Pages/DisplayNews.aspx?NewsID=11920&LangID=E — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lilpiglet (talk • contribs) 23:10, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
