Hillarys Blinds → Hillarys – The company now sells more than just blinds and has dropped the term "Blinds" from all media and branding – Chris050583 (talk) 09:33, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Chris050583 and In ictu oculi: This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 13:23, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose obviously, the target is a suburb redirect in Western Australia. use "Ltd." instead of blinds if needed In ictu oculi (talk) 10:54, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose malformed request; the target title is taken. If you mean to take it over, you'd need at least an argument that this blinds company is primary topic, which will be opposed. Dicklyon (talk) 16:13, 1 March 2016 (UTC)

[edit]@Davey2010:I understand you are the closing administrator that marked this article for deletion: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillarys_Blinds (discussion found here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Hillarys_Blinds )
Recently the company "Hillarys" has been aquired by "Hunter Douglas". This is not a take over or a rebrand its just that the parent company has changed meaning that Hillarys are owned by Hunter Douglas but will remain as a stand alone business under the name "Hillarys" http://investor.hunterdouglasgroup.com/news-releases/news-release-details/hunter-douglas-acquire-hillarys. Here are some more articles about the aquisition: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/5a5c7e3140f0b61ca91f66f8/hunter-douglas-hillarys-merger-decision.pdf https://www.retailgazette.co.uk/blog/2017/07/hillarys-takeover-proposal-halted-cma/ https://www.nottinghampost.com/news/business/notts-based-blinds-maker-hillarys-172687 https://www.reuters.com/article/brief-hunter-douglas-completed-acquisiti/brief-hunter-douglas-completed-acquisition-of-hillarys-idUSFWN1K906H http://www.thebusinessdesk.com/eastmidlands/news/2002006-hillarys-sold-300m
I feel that this is the same as the Walkers Crisps page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walkers_(snack_foods) which was aquired by Pepsico https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PepsiCo http://www.pepsico.com/About/Our-History but still operates under its name "Walkers". As a result I feel that this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillarys_Blinds needs to function as its own entity with the parent = Hunter Douglas already being applied. - Chris050583 (talk) 09:43, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Chris050583, I'm not an administrator and even if i was this page wouldn't be getting deleted :), Tbh I've ventured on to this page a good 4-5 times since the AFD and I still have no idea on what to merge,
- Your best bet is to remove the merge tags and then source it as best you can but if this is renominated then it could be deleted (or "merged" - I say that as a quote/unquote because it still hasn't been merged), Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 16:29, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
