Hilda Lovisa Nordquist föddes den 6 april 1881 i Norunga socken, Älvsborgs Iän. Hon har genomgått Bibelkvinnohemmet i Stockholm samt utbildats i sjukvård vid Flens lasarett. Vid årsmötet 1906 avskildes hon till missionär för Ost-Turkestan, dit hon utreste första gången den 15 september 1906; återkom den 10 oktober 1912; utreste för andra gången den 14 september 1915.
