To clean this article up, I would suggest that we don't need to include his complete list of publications. I added the claim that he is frequently quoted in the international media, which seems to be the main reason someone might look him up in Wikipedia. However, I don't know exactly what to cite that to; I have temporarily added a link to search him in Google News, which works now but is certainly not guaranteed to work in the future (say, if he was unavailable to be quoted for a couple of months). --Metropolitan90 05:20, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

the wp article about the paper says - "the paper is commonly known to be close to Hezbollah' - and Hezbollah aligns itself closely with Iran. btw i'm just a left-ish westerner who knows very little about this area but is curious - dont you think it would be more honest and open of you and democratic to say on your user page just a little about yourself. wp is supposed to be a community/ say a little about ourselves. a 'name' and a 'hi' on a user-page are nothing. everyone has a provenance. like your 'where did you come from?' where does anyone come from? at least on my user page i give some indication of my provenance and beliefs. where do you come from? silence. nothing 'hi' 'lol'. etc . very community friendly. I think you should link to something better than anonymous blogs - if there are sourced RS , link to them. its well known hezbollah are closely aligned with Iran. I never noticed the asterisk - but of course theres nothing of any political guidance on your page as far as I could see - theres the rub, -no openness about any political bias - everyone is partisan - Orwell said that - I do see what articles certain editors are writing about - editors I esteem, editors that I dislike - etc - is that not allowed? its inevitable isn't it? i find your 'what are you doing here', very aggressive and unfriendly really, like your previous mirth at the thought i would get indef banned for swearing. very un-community ish in my opinion. takes all sorts i suppose. hezbollah is aligned with Iran. If you actually read the article, you can see the author of the investigative part is Yazan al-Saadi . As for myself, I'm a Leftist. So are al-Akhbar, who are not pro-Hezbollah or "close" to them, but are pro "resistance", since they are anti-Israeli. If you didn't know, Hezbollah is the only group which has effectively challenged Israel in recent years. In spite of this, al-Akhbar has critisised Hezbollah on several occasions, when they make statements that are too religiously extremist. FunkMonk (talk) 13:14, 15 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Claiming that al-Akhbar is not pro-Hezbollah is as valid as claiming that the sun rises from the west and sets in the east.

Al Akhbar is in support of anyone who resists Israel. If Hezbollah ceased to fight Israel, al-Akhbar would not care for them. So it is not Hezbollah itself they support, but their cause. FunkMonk (talk) 23:18, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
