[edit]Where are the references for this section? Wolvobirder (talk) 04:30, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Iron industry
[edit]I have removed references to the iron industry denuding the forest, as this is essentially WP:OR, whehter by the WP editor or the author of some other resource. It is not clear how heavily wooded Kinver Forest ever was. The agent from deforestation is in fact more likely to be grazing animals, such as sheep, which will eat saplings. The problem is likely to be the woodland cover was lost before the 1540s, when a statute required woods to be enclosed as coppices after felling. Where this happened, the spring was preserved, enabling the iron industry to operate on a sustainable basis. Peterkingiron (talk) 11:11, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
Staffordshire Wildlife Trust
[edit]Highgate Common has been a Staffordshire Wildlife Trust reserve since 2009 and is now looked after by a warden instead of a ranger. I have updated the article to reflect this. I also removed mention of the wardens office being used to recruit volunteers. Although this does take place I don't think that this is the place to advertise it. Highgate is a nature reserve so I moved the section on wildlife closer to the top. Wolvobirder (talk) 20:36, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Weird Reference List
[edit]I noticed the references are weirdly formatted. It seems each citation source has been doubled for no apparent reason. Also one of the doubled citation sources has succumbed to linkrot. It now says it's a "permanently dead link". I've tried to fix it, but I can't figure out how.
I could not salvage the first citation source, but I managed to get an archived citation for the "English Nature" citation. I'm not very technical when it comes to Wikipedia... I don't understand the way this reference list has been made... I can't figure out how to edit it like a normal reference list. Due to this issue I just slotted the archived reference underneath. Feel free to fix the reference list (if you know how).
