The written stuff about Best Buy, Circuit city and iTunes really need to be taken out this really seems to be written like an advertisment. BeeFan 19:15, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. I think it sort of bogs up the article, and it's not really that informative. So other people have covered the songs - is that so worth mentioning that it takes up half the article? For now, I've deleted it. Dh993 18:49, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
WHO IS KARISSA BOLTON?
Who is Karissa Bolton? Since she is on this page, should we add her to the cast on the Main High School Musical page, or delete her here? 70.106.181.119 19:45, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
No, it's called vandalism. Deleting. AGAIN. This is really annoying. About as annoying as the Karissa vandal on Shrek 3 :P By the way, please don't shout :) Use lower case when applicable. -- Ipstenu (talk|contribs) 20:07, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Track Listings
At http://www.tv.com/high-school-musical-2/high-school-musical-2/episode/998246/summary.html there is another track listing, much different from the current one, which by the way, who is Tallulah? Which list should we use? Teeple12 22:06, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
I think the US and UK versions of the album are different. The reference for the tracks is a UK site with a different release date (as announced by Disney, US release is 7/14). Nowayout203 23:34, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
- TV.com is (sadly) user edited. A professional site (amazon) would be best. If someone can find a US site for it, that would be better than this, but it's as far as I can get with it ATM. -- Ipstenu (talk|contribs) 14:13, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
- Keep the six track listing we have now until an article from a reliable source specifically names a new song. I encourage you all to edit out bogus songs (e.g. songs with characters we've never heard of or songs that have a citation that says nothing about them). Zei-ness 18:19, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
I added in, correctly, the ones from here, but I'm wavering on reliability. Humu? Seriously? -- Ipstenu (talk • contribs) 00:15, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- I added the iTunes track listing. If there's anything more official that someone can find, by all means, add it. Dh993 18:57, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
Who the heck is Tallulah?
Who's Tallulah? I mean, it seems like she has a crush on Ryan and vice-versa, but who the heck is she? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.59.240.93 (talk)
- Unknown. I can't find real mention of her save the CD, though it's only fair to get Ryan a love interest. Everyone else has one! Anyone got a citation with her in it? -- Ipstenu (talk • contribs) 22:59, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
- Fancharacter. Obviously so, as whoever keeps adding "Tallulah" (what the heck kind of name is that?) keeps giving her random citations that say nothing about her. People like to add fancharacters to make everyone think their fancharacter's in the movie. (Because Wikipedia can never be wrong and all.) Ryan doesn't get a love interest; unfair, yes, but it turns out he befriends Chad, which is at least something. Zei-ness 18:15, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- The ONLY reason I would argue that is that darn CD has her listed, and that's a somewhat reliable source (I agree about Karissa and Arthur below). -- Ipstenu (talk • contribs) 18:29, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

- I'm not sure that's too reliable (weird for an online store) for a few reasons. One, it still calls HSM2 "Sing It All Or Nothing!" which is obviously not the title as the trailers (even international ones) call it just HSM2. Second, it lists "I Don't Dance" as Troy's song, when it's already been proven by many reliable sources that it's a Chad and Ryan song. Third, if you have a good (read: obsessive ;>) ear, you won't hear any new voices in "Summertime" (which is really "What Time Is It?" -- why don't they have a proven song?) and it lists Tallulah (god, I can feel underprivileged African children getting stomach ulcers just typing that name) as in the song (though, to give it some leeway, if she were a character she may just be listed because it's a cast song). "Be Good To Me" is a song off of Ashley's album, certainly not a Sharpay and Zeke song, and why would there be two songs off of Vanessa's and Ashley's albums? Makes me wonder. Sorry for the great wall of text. ;> Zei-ness 19:16, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I wouldn't be shocked if they slapped on a Vanessa and Ashley single to the album. They did with one of the releases of Album 1. As for the name, it's a UK store and they may have a different title (Grease 4 in Germany). However without a credible secondary source, I believe the prudent action would be to assume CDwow is on crack :) -- Ipstenu (talk • contribs) 20:17, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

As a note
I would like to say, as a note, that there is a very high chance there are no new characters in this movie, so if you see any "Tallulah"s or "Karissa"s or "Arthur"s or whatever teeniebopper name Wikibrats seem to come up with, delete it immediately. The full cast list, from Troy to Martha Cox, would be here. http://www.ashley-tisdale.com/pictures/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=-542&pos=15 (So it's not really a list, it's more of a complete cast picture.) Since even real minor characters like Martha Cox are there, I would assume that the only people missing are parents.
Do you see anyone new there? No, and if anyone has the nerve to say 'yes', go back and watch the first movie again. Unless Disney is keeping a new character the utmost top secret, so secret that no reliable news source or cast member has even hinted at it, I'm severely doubting the existance of one. As a second note, Ryan doesn't have a love interest in the second movie -- he befriends Chad, as Corbin said on an interview on FUSE's "The Sauce" -- so any female names (that aren't already existing characters) should automatically be out.
Sorry for the snippiness, it's just that with Wikipedia being many teens' end-all source for movie news, I want to keep this article as reliable as possible. Zei-ness 18:26, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- You have no idea how happy I am to hear somebody else finally point that out! I've been thinking the same thing since those pictures on IMBD came out with the main "kid" cast, and it's nice to hear somebody else thinking there isn't going to be any real new characters too. I'd use that arguement against "Hannah Montana's" supposedy appearance in the movie, as well as that dubious existance of "Trevor Bolton" also. (I didn't hear about that interview with Corbin though--is it availible anywhere online, or even just that statement?) This all aside from the fact that one would think Disney would advertise the hell out of any "new" character's appearance, who would most likely be played by an already big name Disney Channel actor if Disney was daring enough to add one to the already hugely popular franchise, and that actor that wouldn't be easily missable by reporters on set while filming the movie.
- Sorry for over-exicited response, it's just that I was beginning to think that with all these rumours going around about a new love interest for Ryan and Hannah Montana's appearance and all these "new main characters", I must've either missed something or was just totally wrong about Disney and it's advertising. As a side note, I was really hoping they wouldn't do any major shifts in the cast--given the popularity of the first movie, doing something like giving Ryan a love interest (although I'm sadly having suspicions about this new "larger role" for Martha Cox) would probably hurt the popularity of the franchise (although that's possible in any sequel regardless), because no matter what fans are probably going to be wanting just more of what they saw in the original--and adding a new character would throw pretty much any possibility of that out the window.
- Although I'm especially hoping for no love interest for Ryan for a different, unrelated reason--the idea of him either being gay or in an incestuous relationship with his sister--and still a popular, highly promoted Disney character--I find hilarious (I'm amazed Disney hasn't gotten a bunch of complaints about him specifically--the first time i watched the movie after being begged for months to by my little sister, Ryan and Sharpay's relationship I was shocked at and found most interesting because of its undertones in the movie. But I guess that almost parodiable scene at the end of the movie was enough to assure parents Disney wasn't promoting incest and Ryan's flamboyant character is small enough to go under the radar or brushed off as "Disney"?).
- I'm probably reading too much into the movie, but the idea that Disney has these secret hidden messages they're sending out that many parents would probably not find suitable for children under the age of thirteen (how easily could the words "Breaking Free" in the lyrics be replaced with "Coming Out"? XD), are what keeps me watching! (Not suggesting Disney is evil or anything, just that they are forcing children to becoming more open-minded in ways that perhaps not many would expect (or like) from the conservative appearance of the company...but that's just my warped mind's humor!) Sorry for the psychotic (slightly fangirlish for Ryan and Sharpay?) rambling! Irish♣Pearl 00:13, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

It has been suggested that the article What Time Is It? (Summertime!) be merged into this article. I agree with this proposal, because there just isn't going to be enough information on that one song to justify splitting it up yet. Anyone else? -- Ipstenu (talk • contribs) 00:22, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Why is the manager so angry?
If you try to edit High School Musical 2 (Album), there's a small area where the manager of this article is ticked off about how people are calling "Humu" "HUMUHUMUNUKUNUKUAPUA'A". Its really not that big of a deal, even though HUMUHUMUNUKUNUKUAPUA'A has been confirmed as the real name, hes ticked off, and it's really rude. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.59.240.93 (talk)
- I'm not the manager of any article, I'm just an editor who had to fix that six times and decided to put a note in to get people to pay attention that the name of the song is HUMUHUMUNUKUNUKUAPUA'A, not Humu, and since we're striving for factual accuracy, it is important and apparently necessary. So please, leave it as it's full name. -- Ipstenu (talk • contribs) 13:17, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

- It's not trust, it's verifiability. I could say 'I'm on the crew! Trust me!' and it wouldn't matter a bloody thing if I can't back up what I'm saying. This is an encyclopedia. If it was a fan page, sure, I'm for it. Since it's not, we have to follow guidelines and standards. If you can't cite it, then you have to wait until someone can. But we'll keep reverting you until then. it's nothing personal, it's just the way it is. -- Ipstenu (talk • contribs) 00:42, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Breaking back out... so the only one we don't have is the reprise of you are the music in me (and yes, I asked to have the page protected because people were making unthinking edits, mostly from ip addresses). By the way, the citation you needed was a link to the info - from a reliable source of course. Ashley-t.com is a fan site and can't count. Looking at the Amazon.com link ([1]) I don't see the reprise listed, so we still can't add it. We have all the other songs, though. -- Ipstenu (talk • contribs) 19:37, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
I've noticed that some people have been editing the spelling of the track Humuhumunukunukuapua'a. The correct spellings are either HUMUHUMUNUKUNUKUAPUA'A or Humuhumunukunukuapua'a. Some users are adding extra 'okina/glottal stops (i.e. Humuhumunukunukua'pua'a), capitalizing letters besides the first letter when not using all caps (i.e. HumuhumunukunukuaPua'A), or using a combination of the two (i.e. Humuhumunukunukua'Pua'A). At time of this submission, the track is spelt correctly as Humuhumunukunukuapua'a. Please help keep it that way. Cocomonk22 08:11, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Look now, in my eyes HUMU is just another name for Humuhumunukuapua'a - just shortened. What's the big fuss? Even Ryan in the movie says 'But I thought we were going to sing HumuHumu?'. Also, if you used your common sense, NORMAL people wouldn't go around saying 'Oh, did you hear the song Humuhumunukuapua'a? I love the song Humuhumunukuapua'a, OMIGOD!' Seriously, it's just like an abbreviation. Unless I've spelt abbreviation the wrong way and it's supposed to be abbeabbereviatitionion! Clown face 2007 19:35, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Humuhumunukunukuapua'a Cut
Why did they cut Humuhumunukunukuapua'a from the movie? I think they should keep it on, after hearing a 20 second clip of it from Ashley-T.com, it seems like the new "Bop To The Top"! And it seems stupid because Ryan & Sharpay are supposed to sing it for the talent show, and since it's cut now, there won't be a second Ryan and Sharpay song.
I know - the song is so cool

IP "Contributions"
I noticed within the last hour some changes being made to the tracklisting concerning the "You Are the Music in Me Reprise" which was credited to Ashley Tisdale (as Sharpay). Whoever this user is, he/she wants to give the Ryan character a duet he doesn't have, first changing the credit to a duet with him and (the ficticious character of) Emma Bolton (yet another of the non-existent siblings of Troy). I reverted that edit, only to look and see the same IP struck again, this time turning the reprise into a duet with Ryan and Kelsi (the latter of whom is supposed to be singing the original version), I reverted that just before coming here.
Can anyone else keep an eye out for this if it happens again? (The reason I asked is that I don't want to hit the 3RR violation? WAVY 10 18:12, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Brittany Snow
Brittany Snow does not play Emma Bolton; first of all, the Sharpette named Emma has no relation to Troy, and second of all, in the High School Musical People Magazine, it states that McCall Clark plays Emma, and third of all, there's no citation. If there is a citation, could someone please post it?
People Shouldn't be allowed to edit
People shouldn't be allowed to edit this article, because people are adding things that aren't accurate, like Emma and Trevor Bolton, who aren't real characters.
- Which people? WAVY 10 19:27, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- 75.214.217.121 and 75.215.142.2 have both added the artist 'Rose' or 'Rose Bolton' to tracks as well as an additional track from Hairspray. Most likely the same person since both IPs are located in the same geographic region. Cocomonk22 22:39, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
New Character?
Ummm not entirly sure if this is a new character or if my eyes are playing tricks on me but on http://ashleytisdale.com/projects/High_school_musical_2/hsmn2.asp i thought i saw it list a character named Trevor Bolton. Please don't start arguing with me about it I just thought it might be something to help sort out some confusion (i honestly don't even know if it's a fan base website, i don't think it is though). I hope it helps.
My guess is it's fake. We've seen so many fake "Trevor Bolton" or the notorious "Tallulah/Emma Bolton" entries on both this page and the main page that it's not funny. WAVY 10 13:58, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

2d highest 1st week sales?
The lead claims, with proper citation, that the album has the second highest first week sales of 2007. The problem with putting that in the lead, as I see it, is that we've still got four months to go in the year. Is it really "lead-worthy" to note that something is the runner-up based on incomplete data? I can see putting this down further in the article, at least until the year's end. Then we might consider bringing it back to the lead. Even then, though, I'd be a little bit dubious. Of all the amazing statistics about its initial release, I'd say that the fact that it shipped double platinum conveys a more enduring sense of its initial sales. It's easier to compare that stat with alubms released in other years. CzechOut ☎ | ✍ 23:01, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
"As of August 2007, this figure amounted to the second-biggest first-week sales of the year." seems fine to me. Dh993 01:58, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
Hell no, you are missing the big picture. High School Musical and Disney got owned by Linkin Park. Go Linkin Park! Forget it, Linkin Park will achieve the most sold record of 2007. Even if both were released at the same time Linkin Park would win. People have been waiting for their new album for over a year and a half. --71.246.242.177 01:04, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

OK, it appers the track listing appears to have the actual credits as for whom sang the song- but they aren't completely right. For example, "Work This Out" did NOT contain the full cast, and "Music in Me" had Kelsi (Olysa Runin or whatever). Should we also credit these characters, or not? - No. A lot of users seem to think so, which creates a problem since the track listings used are from iTunes and from the official track listing from the album. The listing isn't necessarily who performed in each song. Dh993 03:54, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
