Acronym
[edit]I'd like to propose that the redirect "HPSS", which currently links to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, to this page instead. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone has other shorthand redirects (HP1). HPSS has been the name of this product since its inception more than 15 years ago. Finally, appealing to correctness from popularity, a quick Google search of "HPSS" reveals that 8 of the first 10 entries are information about this entry. This acronym is the common name of the product in both verbal and written language, just as IBM is the name of common name of the company in both written and spoken language. - Michael.meseke (talk) 06:42, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- It is now a disambiguation page, which makes sense to me. As per the "common name" guidelines, I would be willing to wager that naming Harry Potter is more common the entire world than this very specialized technology. W Nowicki (talk) 23:18, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
Cut-n-paste?
[edit]Of promotional web site http://www.hpss-collaboration.org/hpss_collaboration.shtml Not good. W Nowicki (talk) 23:18, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
- Perhaps even WP:COPYVIO? It certainly needs a lot of other attention to wikify it. Feline Hymnic (talk) 10:31, 30 August 2014 (UTC)
Rather than starting from the current version, I'm going to roll it back to this version then try to salvage some useful snippets of information that that the roll-back will have lost. Feline Hymnic (talk) 11:37, 30 August 2014 (UTC)
