Why would a Shinkansen derivate help competing the ships for freight traffic for speed? It is a passenger train and for beating the speed of ships well operated and maintained regular freight trains should be quite sufficient.--Bk1 168 (talk) 18:46, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

1,829 mm

Is there any evidence for the unusual gauge of 1,829 mm to be used for the connection to Alaska, which is highly unlikely anyway? Unless there is very strong evidence, I would really cut this out, because this is so far from being realistic and the gauge issue is not really seriously relevant at this time.--Bk1 168 (talk) 19:22, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
