Official web page
[edit]The semi-official webpage of Hico, TX is http://hico-tx.com/ Makes sense that this should be an external link for this page. It includes photos of the town, event dates, etc. Redheaded dude 02:06, 10 November 2005 (UTC)
Notable residents
[edit]The edit of 2008-03-18 by User:Theprophet2008 added the following "notable resident":
- Christina Diane Ramage: Socialite; University of Texas Class of 2007; esteemed scholar of the law at University of Texas School of Law Class of 2010; widely renowned for her embodiment of the Texas Sweetheart.
However, the whole thing looks suspicious, having no citation, and this is one of the only two edits made by User:Theprophet2008, the other one also being suspicious. I've removed it until someone can verify its validity. — Loadmaster (talk) 18:24, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
KKK
[edit]Some years ago I heard rumors that Hico was a hotbed for KKK clan activity. Does anyone know if this has any basis in fact? — Loadmaster (talk) 18:03, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
I am from around the area. We used to have family reunions there. I heard about it, never saw it. One thing that needs to be stated is the Koffee Kup Family Restaurant was actually named Koffee Kup Kafe, then Koffee Kup Cafe, then the current. I heard that the KKK met there. My parents confirm that they new of Hico's history and that there are slim to none African American families that lived there or even currently live. Luckily my family did/does not believe in that way of thinking. I did take some of my African American friends there to see the Billy the Kid stuff, and they were treated nice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.48.126.168 (talk) 02:52, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
History
[edit]In the town "Where Everybody Is Somebody" and a former local resident is Billy the Kid, I figure Dorothy Parker really is Marie of Romania, as her poem states. --Wetman (talk) 20:53, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
