In their book, "Personality Theories: Basic Assumptions, Research and Applications", (McGrawHill; 1981, 1992) Hjelle and Ziegler use the term heterostasis in a rather different way. Heterostasis, in Hjelle and Ziegler's terms, was used as references to theories of motivation that imply that motivation is towards a form of personal growth, such as the theory of Abraham Maslow, and contrast it with homeostatic theories of motivation such as those of Sigmund Freud. If somebody can create an article on heterostasis in this sense, disambiguation could be called for. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vorbee (talk • contribs) 18:42, 11 July 2017 (UTC)
