I have studied Heterocystical symbionics for eleven years at the Institute. No where in this am I able to ascertain the function of a heterocyst, nor its larger meaning in the grand scheme of biological relationships, much less the parasystical that are led by a grander and more imense beleif.

Dr. Indiana Jones Croyst Institute for advanced biological study

If a cyanobacterium is growing continuously in nitrogen supplemented environment, are there any chances of losing the genes for heterocyst development, as they are no more in use.

Heterocytes vs heterocysts

[edit]

Campbell, N. A. (2008).Biology. New York: Pearson states "heterocyst" is the former name of heterocytes. I was wondering whether this is an international adaption, a typo or really a new spelling for the word heterocyst. If it's a new spelling a referal page could be made.
