Current name for species
[edit]It appears from the New Zealand Organisms Register that the current accepted name for this species is Heterocrossa epomiana Meyrick, 1885. I refer any other editors to Volume 9 of the Insects of Hawai where Zimmerman, on page 797 argues that the Heterocrassa genus should not a synonym of Carposina as the genitalia in this genus are distinctive. This was accepted by Dugdale in Lepidoptera - annotated catalogue, and keys to family-group taxa as well as in the 2012 publication New Zealand Inventory of Biodiversity. Unless other editors have an objection I propose editing this article to reflect this.Ambrosia10 (talk) 02:38, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
Requested move 11 June 2018
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: Moved along with
- Carposina iophaea → Heterocrossa iophaea
- Heterocrossa ignobilis
- Heterocrossa gonosemana
- Heterocrossa exochana
- Heterocrossa eriphylla
- Heterocrossa epomiana
- Heterocrossa cryodana
In the future, please consider bundling similar requests per procedure at WP:RM#CM; I understand that it took several days to research, but moving one by one could have resulted in inconsistency. Non-experts were unlikely to object, anyway. Thanks. No such user (talk) 12:11, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
Carposina epomiana → Heterocrossa epomiana – As explained in the above section in the talk page for this article, Heterocrossa epomiana is the currently accepted species name for this moth. I refer you to the references cited in the article especially those cited in the taxonomy section. Ambrosia10 (talk) 22:20, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
