Current name for species

It appears from the New Zealand Organisms Register that the current accepted name for this species is Heterocrossa contactella (Walker, 1866). I refer any other editors to Volume 9 of the Insects of Hawai where Zimmerman, on page 797 argues that the Heterocrassa genus should not a synonym of Carposina as the genitalia in this genus are distinctive. This was accepted by Dugdale in Lepidoptera - annotated catalogue, and keys to family-group taxa as well as in the 2012 publication New Zealand Inventory of Biodiversity. Carposina contactella → Heterocrossa contactella – As explained in the above section on "current name for species" as well as in the taxonomy section of the article, the currently accepted name for this New Zealand endemic species is Heterocrossa contactella. I refer other editors to the citations listed above and in the taxonomy section of the article.
