[edit]Montreal area residents spent their summers there with their parents in the forties and fifties and beyond. Very likely others spent time there before that. I began spending my summers there in 1947 when my dad bought a cabin built by Eric Rand's father some years earlier. I believe the address was 91 and it was unique being covered in tin with a painting of mickey mouse going fishing. Other families included the Smiths, Whittakers, Ridriques, Griffiths, Brooks, Reeds and the apparent senior resident Mr. Lanuet. Goat island was closer to Verdun or LaSalle and was just across a creek. We had a wonderful time each summer going up the day school ended and returning labour day weekend. Polio was a main concern which led to us staying there . If anyone is interested more another time.
