Hero stone
[edit]I will add many more impressive hero stone images shortly. Hero stones normally depict war scenes in one or more segments of the stone like the the images we now have on the article. The upper segment may have carvings of the hero being lifted to the heavens by attendents while seated. Regular inscriptions have at the top carvings giving an idea which faith the inscription came from. If a Shaiva inscription, one sees the Nandi bull, the Shiva linga and a half moon and perhaps an person bowing in respect. If its a Jain inscription, the meditating image of a Tirthankar is carved and so on. Dineshkannambadi 17:50, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
