[edit]I think it's time for discussion and an exchange of ideas from the A-D groups. Maybe somebody can explain or give examples of what the commandments mean. It would be a good start. Herman always loved a good pun. Lets call this "Write on Wrice".
I'll put up some material to help people understand the commandments. They look silly without any context. I'd be interested in hearing from folks who were early participants or watched Wrice's ideas evolve, as it seems to me the mans legacy deserves a more vibrant(and detailed) accounting. I've enabled email to my wiki name, or you can direct a message to me: Chris at theaviary dot net.
The Real Story about the White Helmet
[edit]Wilson Goode didn't give Herman the hardhat. I'm not taking anything away from Wilson, he is a good man, Wilson did "inspire" Herman to keep wearing the hard hat. It is true that Herman would taunt the drug dealers on the corner. Usually it was a vacant corner lot that he was cleaning up or some other blighted property. It was a hot summer and he didn't have a hat to wear. It don't know where he got that hard hat but it "was the only thing I could find, and it was better than the one I had." The day Herman shut down the first crackhouse in Mantua, Wilson Goode was making one of his neighborhood visits. He and Herman talked and Wilson teased him a little bit telling him .. "your gonna need that hard hat now"... its not a quote but it was something along those lines. When we got back to the office Herman said to me. "You know Wilson was being a smart... but you know he's right. When troops are in a war they need a uniform and battle ribbons. Find out where to get more of these hats." If you look inside his hard hat it says its from a company in Horsham, PA. I ordered 50 of them that day. He bought decals the next day.
