It has long been rumored that Slater was the "Simon" character behind the "Simon Necronomicon." Should this be mentioned in the article?

Project for ENGL 416: Editing at Towson University

I am a student at Towson University in an Editing class assigned with the project of editing stub's on American Editors and Herman Slater happens to be my assigned editor. I'm hoping that through this project I will be able to gain skills in editing and citations. Through my research, I have not been able to find much information on Slater. Is there more out there than what has already been mentioned in the stub?

Does anyone know how to cite something that is not from an online source. I found a lot of information in a print encyclopedia

There is a "cite encyclopedia" template you can use:

{{cite encyclopedia |last= |first= |author= |authorlink= |coauthors= |editor= |encyclopedia= |title= |url= |accessdate= |language= |edition= |date= |year= |month= |publisher= |volume= |location= |id= |isbn= |oclc= |doi= |pages= |quote= |ref= }}

For other types of books, use the "cite book" template:

{{cite book |title= |last= |first= |authorlink= |coauthors= |year= |publisher= |location= |isbn= |page= |pages= |url= |accessdate=}}

Just as a starter - this comment presented as if a fact At a very early age, her became aware of anti-Semitism which was lead on behalf of the Catholic Church

Hi Gialia, I would first like to commend you on the great job that you have done so far. You have helped to provide valuable research and insight for your page. Most of your links gave much info about Slater. I made some corrections on your page. Most of them were grammatical, spelling, capitalization and verb tense agreement. I have a couple of recommendations. I wasn't sure if the sentence on the Catholic church "sounds" factual. It was mentioned that they lead Anti-Semitism. Did you mean to say that they encouraged it? I wasn't sure. You might want to check up on that. I will check that out too. Also, when I clicked on the footnote 1, it did not take me to a link. Lastly, under the "Philosophy" section, I got a little bit lost with the flow. You might want to reword it. If you choose, maybe you could say this (or in your own fashion): "His blunt opinions made him unpopular. Despite (his) outward appearances/persona, he did not practice what he preached. Slater was known for keeping many lovers outside of his relationship with B." Just a recommendation. Keep up the great work! Mommyamma (talk) 23:47, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Thanks! As for the link on the first reference, it is from a print source that I found in Towson's Library and there isn't an online version available. I will definitely look at the other suggestions though and make corrections. Thanks! Gfiora2 (talk) 15:09, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

I changed the link under "See also:" to "Witchcraft" from "Necronomicon" as that book has nothing to do with Herman Slater, witchcraft or Wiccanism.
