Nice to review a Christmas article nearly two months after the date! --K. Peake 06:34, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox and lead

[edit]
  • Recording date in the infobox is unsourced
  • Replace hlist with bullet points per Template:Infobox song
  • Wikilink reissued
  • "It was written and" → "The song was written and"
  • "Rumors of new music" → "Prior to its release, rumors of new music"
  • Target singles to Single (music)
  • ""Here This Christmas" remained a" → "The former of the three remained a"
  • "announced that the track" → "announced that the song"
  • "Musically, "Here This Christmas" is a" → ""Here This Christmas" is a"
  • Wikilink electric guitar
  • "Finnish Airplay chart." → "Finnish Airplay chart at number 98."
  • Remove "for the song" since "accompanying" implies this

Background and release

[edit]
  • "Gwen Stefani released her fourth studio album," → "Stefani released her fourth studio album"
  • The description of the album's songs is not properly sourced by [1]
  • "in October 2017 through" → "in October 2017, through"
  • "For the project," → "For the album,"
  • Target holiday to Christmas music
  • "who also served as" → "with the latter of the two also serving as"
  • "Stefani's album was" → "You Make It Feel Like Christmas was"
  • "with her boyfriend," → "with Stefani's boyfriend
  • Wikilink bonus tracks per MOS:LINK2SECT
  • Wikilink music video
  • Target single to Single (music)
  • None of the singles are directly mentioned as being country
  • "and the "Nobody but You"." → "and "Nobody but You"."
  • "highest-charting release on the" → "highest-charting release on the US"
  • [14] says nothing about her Just a Girl concert residency in Las Vegas being inspiring, only her appearing on The Voice
  • "Speculation from music critics of new Stefani material" → "Speculation of new Stefani material"
  • Her role being a judge is not sourced
  • The announcement of a reissue is not mentioned by [17]
  • "was written by Josh Varnadore and" → "was co-written by Josh Varnadore with"
  • "the nineteen tracks on" → "the nineteen tracks on the reissue of"
  • "co-wrote 8 original songs" → "co-wrote eight original songs" per MOS:NUM on comparative values
  • "on October 23, 2020 through" → "as a single on October 23, 2020, through"
  • The Instagram quote is not provided by [9]
  • "A promotional audio video" → "A promotional audio video for"
  • "of its digital release." → "as its digital release."
  • "annual seasonal programming block," → "annual seasonal programming block"

Composition and lyrics

[edit]
  • Img looks good!
  • Remove target on Christmas
  • Target groove to Groove (music)
  • "and features holiday-centric sounds created" → "and features sounds created"
  • Remove uDiscover Music per discussion
  • "and attributed it to the song's" → "and she attributed this to the"
  • [31] should not be here since it does not provide that info
  • The first two sentences of the second para should be in the first section after the Instagram announcement, as they are not related to the composition
  • Wikilink vocal range on the first mention
  • Remove target on beats per minute
  • Wikilink A-sharp major per MOS:LINK2SECT
  • Wikilink chord progressions
  • Target chorus to Refrain
  • "Varnadore and Laura Cooksey who" → "Varnadore and Laura Cooksey, who"
  • "is to be with her significant other" this is not mentioned by [34]
  • "when you're calling"." → "when you're calling."" since that is a full sentence quoted
  • "here this Christmas"." → "here this Christmas.""

Reception

[edit]
  • "called the song" → "both called the song"
  • The refs are out of order; Entertainment Tonight Canada should be first, followed by USA Today and then Radio.com
  • "to that opus"." → "to that opus" with the song."
  • Remove "agreed in calling it festive and" since this is repeating what he said earlier in the sentence
  • The Orange County Register identification is not needed because we already know she writes for the publication
  • Change Vulture.com to Vulture with the target per MOS:LINK2SECT
  • Again, [31] is not the correct ref; I will identify what to replace it with in the references sub-section of this review
  • Target People to People (magazine)

Chart performance

[edit]
  • Retitle to Commercial performance
  • "it entered at number 5," → "it entered at number five," per MOS:NUM
  • "and Brett Eldredge and" → "and Brett Eldredge, and"
  • "nineteenth consecutive song from the album" → "19th consecutive song from You Make It Feel Like Christmas"

Music video

[edit]
  • "for "Here This Christmas"" should be removed per earlier comment
  • Remove wikilink on YouTube
  • "it was sent" → "the video was sent"
  • "The clip features real-time footage" → "The clip features behind-the-scenes footage" with the target, as that is what the source says
  • "Stefani wore an" → "Stefani wears an"
  • "of the video, writing that" → "of the video, writing:"
  • "the holiday spirit"." → "the holiday spirit!"" because that is the actual grammar used and it's a full sentence
  • Remove uDiscover Music per earlier comment

Track listing

[edit]

Credits and personnel

[edit]
  • composer, lyricist, producer → producer, composer, lyricist (per Tidal order)
  • background vocals → background vocalist

  • Cite Earone as publisher instead for ref 7
  • Wikilink Apple Music on ref 16's first citation
  • Vulture.com → Vulture on ref 20, citing as website instead with the target per MOS:LINK2SECT; do the same for refs 34 and 42 but with no target
  • Target Amazon.com to Amazon (company) on ref 22

  • Cite the correct URL for ref 31
  • Cite Idolator as website instead for ref 35

Final comments and verdict

[edit]
Kyle Peake – I have recently completed making edits to the article. I hope my edit summaries correlate nicely to your sections of suggestions above. I apologize that some of the references in the article were lazily-placed. Let me know if there is anything else I can do. Thanks, Carbrera (talk) 17:16, 15 February 2021 (UTC).[reply]
Ignore this message if you'd like, but I'm currently involved in this AfD discussion for an article I have contributed to, and was curious to see if you'd be interested in leaving your opinion. I understand you are not involved with the article or Stefani's WikiProject, but after reviewing several of her GA nominations, I believe you may be more familiar with the topics involved. But like I said, I know you're busy. Thanks, Carbrera (talk) 17:52, 15 February 2021 (UTC).[reply]
Carbrera I have just come back online now, it is good to see you've responded so quickly. However, you still need to remove the comma after "her fourth studio album" in the background and release section, swap the refs in reception and change Vulture.com to Vulture there. On the subject of the AFD, I will try to take a look tonight (GMT). --K. Peake 18:52, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Kyle Peake – Okay, I fixed everything else minus what you said about swapping references in the "Reception" section – could you clarify what you meant? I'm not sure I understand. Carbrera (talk) 19:33, 15 February 2021 (UTC).[reply]
Carbrera I meant to fix the ref order as instructed for the opening sentence of that section. --K. Peake 19:58, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Kyle Peake – Oops, my bad. I just fixed that. Carbrera (talk) 00:49, 16 February 2021 (UTC).[reply]
Carbrera  Pass now, your quickest response yet! --K. Peake 06:40, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
