File:Hera-photo-by-kyle-cassidy.jpg to appear as POTD soon
[edit]Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Hera-photo-by-kyle-cassidy.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on July 8, 2012. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2012-07-08. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :) Thanks! —howcheng {chat} 17:33, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
Funny but I don't recall the Celts having anything to do with either Iceland (Norse) or New Zealand (English/Maori). Just saying ... NevarMaor (talk) 02:13, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
- This is OT (if it's sourced, hasn't been challenged in a RS and properly ascribed to her, then it doesn't matter to us whether it really makes sense particularly in a matter like this) but without knowing anything about whether she has looked in to her heritage, Demographics of Iceland makes it clear that on average Icelandic people do have a lot of Celtic ancestry so it's not unreasonable to assume she had such as well. While, it's true she may have nothing to represent the putative Norwegian part of her Icelandic ancestry she didn't suggest it represented all of her heritage just both New Zealand and Icelandic. (Note that the fact that Icelandic culture may perhaps traditionally had less influence from Celtic culture is of questionable relevance, after all 50 years ago many Kiwis would not have liked or thought of moko as a New Zealand thing.)
