Album Title
[edit]- The actual title of this ablum is "Her Majesty" not "Her Majesty the Decemberists, this should be changed.
Nope. It's "Her Majesty the Decemberists". People, please see evidence below and stop changing/shortening it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.104.103.104 (talk) 21:48, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
Album Title Again
[edit]- Sorry to make a new one for this but I don't know how to indent a current one. I used to think it was "Her Majesty" until itunes and every single source I've read called it "Her Majesty the (or The) Decemberists." If it was just "Her Majesty" the "t" would be capitalized on the cover since it was a stand alone proper noun. Also--the CD booklet's credits state "Her Majesty The Decemberists: As performed by" and lists who plays what instruments. If the title of the entry was changed upon this single previous request it is a shame upon the administrative democracy that is Wikipedia.Levelistchampion 23:50, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Album title again again
[edit]its just "Her Majesty", look here: http://www.decemberists.com/music.aspx?upc=759656037525. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.71.45.194 (talk) 22:43, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- The website is incorrect. http://www.believermag.com/issues/200406/?read=interview_meloy —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.37.34.2 (talk) 00:14, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed. The Decemberists website is incorrect. I've always assumed the title was "Her Majesty the Decemberists"; in the believermag.com link above, both the interviewer and Colin repeatedly refer to the album using the longer title; as mentioned above, the CD booklet clearly credits the longer title; iTunes identified my CD using the longer title; the iTunes store uses the longer title; and even the Kill Rock Stars store uses the longer title: http://www.buyolympia.com/killrockstars/Item=krs375. Even the spine of the CD says "Her Majesty the Decemberists".
- I realize some sources (amazon, band site) have the shorter title; but so what? Unless the Believer interview was falsely edited, then I take it Colin himself calls it by the longer title. Given that he IS the songwriter for the band, I'm gonna trust him to know what his band's album is called over the band's website (probably not coded by him).
- I'm changing the title to the long version. Period. The proper title is NOT "Her Majesty". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.181.68.30 (talk) 23:00, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
- Well I just made the changes to the extent I could, but being a very infrequent wiki editor, I didn't know you needed a 4-day-old account to move (i.e. change the title) of a page. I have created an account specifically for this purpose. If anyone else wants to make the correction in the interim, be my guest. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Djlemonfresh (talk • contribs) 23:18, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
