What qualifies him as a "mathematician" or "astronomer", I do not understand. I propose to remove these labels, unless some source is given. User:Pym1507 —Preceding undated comment added 19:52, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
- I don't know about his aptitude for mathematics but I do know that he wrote at least 2 texts on astronomy. Furthermore, most of his writings have never been published or translated, so as such you and I are both in the dark as to his other qualifications... I do know that he is credited, amongst other things, with organizing the astronomy and mathematics programs, however, at the University of Vienna... Maybe, that is where it comes from.
