[edit]Edited a little bit about the accident. Wikipedia isnt a newspaper (Bits like "Today Henry Surtees had a..."). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.55.90.110 (talk) 16:38, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
"Surtees was extricated from the car and taken to the circuit's medical centre, where he was stabilised before being transferred to the Royal London Hospital. Surtees was killed instantly by the blow." These sentences are entirely contradictory, and this needs to be fixed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by User:Emu76 (talk) 10:44, 21 July 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.3.233.122 (talk)
- Not really. Time and cause of death are determined post-mortem, not at the scene; the local rescue team and medical centre have life support systems that would have used regardless of how dire the situation was. There are also, of course, multiple definitions of death. Aubergine (talk) 04:36, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
Just a quick note folks, in 'death' section there is a paragraph referring to the Formula 1 incidents occurring after this tragic accident. Is this really relevant? I believe it isn't, and does an injustice to Henry, it's almost like the article is glazing over the fact that he died and going to talk about more 'famous' racing formulae. Cheers guys. --Energy released--
It is stated the amount of energy was around 60,000 Joules but according to my calculations of kinetic energy P=1/2*m*v^2 it amounts to just shy of 30,000 Joules Speed was 162 km/h = 45 m/s --> v^2 = 2025. Put in above formula gives P = 0.5*29*2025 = 29,362.5 Joules
