Military rank: Paymaster's Clerk

The article says he was a "Paymaster's clerk". According to page 348 of this reference of the Pay Department from the History of the War Department of the United States, "That regimental and battalion Paymasters shall receive the pay and emoluments of Major, and shall be allowed a capable non-commissioned officer as clerk". Accordingly, "Category:United States Army personnel" was changed to "Category:United States Army non-commissioned officers". Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 12:57, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
