Not a "colonial" lawyer
[edit]Carroll was not a colonial lawyer. If he was we should probably say "lawyer from British America" or another term that is more clear than just calling those from the 13th colonies "colonial", thus ignoring all the other colonies that have existed. However none of those terms apply to Carroll. He was born in 1772, so he was 11 when the peace treaty ending the American Revolution was signed. He was not at that point a lawyer, so he is clearly and without dispute an "American" lawyer, not "colonial", even if we accept this very extremely Amero-centric use of the term colonial.John Pack Lambert (talk) 18:14, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
