XL Tank Corps

[edit]

A passage says "In April 1940, Weidling was appointed Artillery Commander of the XL Tank Corps (XL Panzer Korps). He commanded this corps during the Battle of France and during the early stages of Operation Barbarossa." In France and Russia did he command the Corps or just its artillery? He commanded 41st and later 56th Corpses. Balalayker 17:16, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Aftermath

[edit]

I have added a link onto the Soviet Act of Indictment and changed the corresponding part of the article. Weidling was not "accused in not surrendering earlier". He was actually accused in commiting mass war crimes in Soviet Union during the German occupation which inlcuded the murders of thousands of civil and POW. Balalayker 17:16, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

J.J. Fedorowicz Publishing

[edit]

Suggesting that a better source be used, if possible, since Fischer's Soldiers of Leibstandarte is published by J.J. Fedorowicz Publishing and does not inspire confidence in its historical accuracy and neutral point of view. I tagged the article accordingly. K.e.coffman (talk) 07:23, 11 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I know this book and can tell you that it is a straight bio history of certain men and events (mainly covering the Battle of Berlin) and is not a pov pushing work; it is fine for historical fact for which it is used which is for certain details not in Beevor's work, for example; as for other books from this publisher, I have no comment about them and I understand the reason for your query above. Defective footnote

[edit]

The article currently has a footnote (no. 2) that reads "Ryan 1966, p. 305" but no further details are cited (e.g. no work by anyone called Ryan is listed in the bibliography). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.198.205.82 (talk) 19:00, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
