Recent studies have shown that Helicites are a symbiotic system between speleoterms and bacteria at 100% intricated More info at http://www.researchgate.net/publication/283349945_Microbial_mediation_of_complex_subterranean_mineral_structures --luxorion

Question

[edit]

I have heard a theory where crystal growth determines the direction of where the helictite grows.

question ?

[edit]

at near 100% humidity and varying pressures (not wind) could minerals form as if in a water rock garden ? = Helictite

this is a question any constructive answers or pointers on where to ask such questions would be much appreciated

thanks much

Do all Helectites have a central canal?

[edit]

The following sentence is from the description of formation of helectites page. “However, the majority of helectites are not hollow” I can not find a single report which backs up this statement. I would like to know where it originated.
