Merge with light rail station article
[edit]The light rail station is an extension to the existing station rather than a stand alone station, as indicated by it being incorporated into the railway station's platform numbering. Propose that the light rail station article be merged into the railway station article. Kickenkorma (talk) 07:01, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
- I disagree with the proposed merger. Helensvale light rail station is located off Country Club Drive in Helensvale where the railway station located off Town Centre Drive. A pedestrian walkway does exist to connect the two stations as they are separated by the railway tracks. The light rail station apart from the bridge is completely separated and is managed by G:link (Gold Coast's light rail operator) where as the railway station is managed by Queensland Rail.
- In merging the Helensvale light rail station page wit the existing heavy rail station it could potentially confuse readers as all other Gold Coast light rail stations have Wikipedia pages. If the pages where merged, might I suggest changing the page name to Helensvale light and Heavy rail station or Helensvale Interchange to accurately describe the station as a Heavy rail, light rail and bus interchange. - Agree, that the light rail platforms have been integrated into the numbering sequence of the railway station indicates they are one in the same. The railway platforms are operated by Queensland Rail, the light rail platforms by G:link, but the whole complex including the bus interchange is owned by Main Roads Queensland. - Agree with merge. The train and light rail stations are, for all intents and purposes, a single integrated station. I would propose merging under the name Helensvale station, a method notably used for merged articles where London train, tube and tram services interchange. There may be different operators, but they're all part of the TransLink network. – Nick Mitchell 98 talk 02:50, 17 September 2018 (UTC)
