No delete this article
[edit]Maybe wikipedia can delete all the Record Label like Tzadik Records or another because, is not popular, so wikipedia is only a "political correct" copy paste with some gramatical changes of info that you can find easy in many places with much better information or directly from the source, so what about these kind of articles? we need to write a book about Hed Kandi, the book need to be popular? it need to be a lot of search result in google? If you see the history many time, people burn culture, delete registers books and many times, in the second war, in the conquer of america in the, inquicicion, in alejandria, in china in many many places and times, stop to destroy the culture! 118.173.58.88 (talk) 15:28, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
Biggest house music instutions in the UK
[edit]Hed Kandi is one of the biggest house music instutions in the UK, involving a big history. Especially, the Hed Kandi/Tokyo Project split contains a lot of info.
It's very commercial.
[edit]Hed Kandi doesn't maintain any particular exclusivity anymore though. Hopefully Mark Doyle's Tokyo Project will fare better.
Tokyo Project crashed and burned to to legal action and some financial backing that never materialised.
Luckily a great relatioshhip with AATW has allowed us to servive.
Fierce Angel Is now 6 releases old !!!
It's sad.
[edit]There's no compairson between the old layout and the new one. Jason Brooks covers were far better. Plus, due to the reasons of the departure of M.D. and friends, I decided to break with HK and follow the true spirit of HK...
Well check out the new albums and let me knw what you think....
It's very sad when a family falls apart...But I know I have to be happy to do what I do. And I was becoming less and less interested in the businees and wanted to do it myself
Thats why we have Fierce Angel. I'm not saying we'll get it right all the time but we'll have a bloody good try
Name meaning
[edit]It would be very interesting to know where the name, Hed Kandi, comes from and what it means. Does Kandi relate to candy? If so, what is Hed? To me it sounds Dutch in a way... Anyone knows something? I wasn't able to find anything online.
-> I'm sure it's Dutch but I don't know the meaning. Think's something like Candies...
Here you go from the horses mouth....
When I originally came up with the nane it was going to be a club night ....
But the label came to life and I thought - it looks good (eye candy) it sounds good (ear candy) it might even taste good...
Most of your senses are located in your hed !!! Therefore overall it's Hed Kandi
Slightly cooler spelling and voila one global brand
mark doyle
Thank you for your insight Mark! What an honour...
Huh. I always assumed that "hed" was derived from "hedonism". Seemed to make sense to me... :) 92.237.136.84 (talk) 10:40, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
- Someone writes the name 'mark doyle' but no proved signation, some other one writes thank you without signation... There is no way to control who wrote what. Also I assume, that someone in the process of naming an event or series would have known, that 'head' (as associated above) is written with an 'a' instead of 'hed'. To authenticate something for the article it must have a good reference, which is missing totally. Everything written here is just waste of space... I would appreciate any kind of encycolpedic knowledge about the great 'Hed Kandi'-series, but cannot find anything useable... -- 77.119.131.162 (talk) 10:09, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
Illustration after Jason Brooks
[edit]After Jason Brooks broke up whit Hed Kandi, another graphic design studios took care of cover illustration. What's its name? The studio were named in the article in the past, too.
Paedophilia? You've got to be kidding me.
[edit]The idea that the name refers to paedophilia should be removed from the article. The label is clearly aimed at women who like dance music, not paedophiles. 96.45.196.227 (talk) 20:44, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
Language use
[edit]Two of the most notable DJ's that have worked for Hed Kandi was Andy Norman and Steve Krafft, After the purchase by Ministry of Sound they set of to start the brand 'Original Dj's'. // My mother tongue is German, but sentences like the above one are neither encyclopedic nor real English (maybe some sort of colloquial or dialect). DJs with apostrophy, Two (plural) ... was (singular) ..., capital character after comma, set off with one f, mixed single quote and plural apostrophy. This sounds like an uneducated lower grade kid or a foreigner, who has no idea how to post encyclopedic knowledge. -- 77.119.131.162 (talk) 09:52, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
