wat can u measure with hectometre?
- Many of the same things you could alternately measure as multiples of metres or fractions of kilometres. It, like the decametre, really only exists to allow consistency with the rest of the SI units, where all prefixes are conceptually permitted to be used with any of the base units. Would you normally use this term during regular dialogue on any particular topic? Probably not. But if, for any reason, you chose to do so, it would still be unambiguously understood by anybody with a proper understanding of SI. Goosnarrggh (talk) 13:46, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- There’s plenty of use of hectometre as a standalone measurement unit, for values percieved as unpractical both in kilometers and in meters. Hectometer makers in roads and railways is a good example. ----
- In athletics, track events include the hectometre, the two hectometre and the four hectometre sprints, as well as the 4 x hectometre relay. Long distance runners take part in the 50 hectometre and the 100 hectometre (aka hectohectometre) races, among others. :o) 92.10.212.58 (talk) 18:00, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
Main Image
[edit]The main image is of a pyramid, and it is not even measured in hectometres but metres. Must get rid of it...? NikolaiHo☎️ 01:04, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
Changed image caption to mention the pyramid height in hectometres, though this image still isn't all that illustrative. Druggiero (talk) 19:51, 31 March 2018 (UTC)
