About this page
[edit]This page was created by forking the "Payment" and "Spending" sections of Health care in the United States into this article. I cleaned the references, but otherwise changed no content. I created the lede by copying some text out of sections in the body, and I also posted the lede into the original article in place of the text I removed. I posted notice of my forking this article at Talk:Health_care_in_the_United_States#Forked_.22Payment.22_and_.22Spending.22_sections. Blue Rasberry (talk) 13:08, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
- We should consider (a) renaming to Health care finance in the United States, as it is not just about spending - or (b) Merging with information from Health insurance in the United States, which overlaps a fair amount, or, alternately, moving the insurance-focused work to the insurance page, and leaving this page focused on spending (out of pocket), and non-insurance forms of coverage. --Obi-Wan Kenobi (talk) 21:48, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
- The rename seems like a good option to me. Right now, this article is 42k, and according to WP:LENGTH, 40k is the minimum recommended article size to consider forking an article with size being one of the justifications. The insurance article is 75k, with 100k being a limit at which articles almost certainly should be divided. I do not support combining this article with insurance in totality, but maybe parts of each should go into each other. For now, I will just do the rename and wait to see if other people have comments. Blue Rasberry (talk) 12:19, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
