1942 Head of the River
[edit]Win by Aquinas in 1942 is said to be 'unofficial'. This is not so. The West Australian of Monday 4 May 1942 headline on page 2 is "Victory for Aquinas". Next sentence: "Aquinas College won the race for the First Eights at the Public Schools regatta held on the Canning River on Saturday." It was a shorter course at a different location because of inclement weather on the Swan River; but that's neither here nor there. There is nothing 'unofficial' about this at all. The article in The West would have said so; it didn't. The Public Schools Association conducted the race and Aquinas won it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alipius (talk • contribs) 08:49, 21 July 2020 (UTC)
