[edit]It looks like the Notability fairy has been on this article too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.223.65.209 (talk) 01:09, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

[edit]The career section is a little weird. It would make more sense for it to be distributed by music/acting rather than by years. Her new movie XOXO should also be added to this section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rezuschlag (talk • contribs) 00:11, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
Image change
[edit]Image changing due to the past nature of the last photo, where she appeared almost unrecognizable compared to the way she looks now. Anonpediann (talk) 17:07, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
- That's a much better image, but is the licensing correct? Chaheel Riens (talk) 17:59, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
- No, unfortunately, it isn't. There are two claims for the image:
- The first states that the article is about the work, that is the image. If, for example, we have an article about a photograph we can use a low-res version of the copyrighted image under fair use. This article is about Kiyoko, not the photo of her.
- The second claim is that the image is not replaceable: For example, if Kiyoko were dead or a recluse, we can't really get a free image of her. In this case, she is a living person and we therefore assume (in all but the most extreme cases) that someone could reasonably take a photo of her.
- I have reverted the change. The current image, while perhaps dated, is free. Until we find a copyright free image we are stuck with what we have. - SummerPhDv2.0 23:41, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
- I thought that to be the case. My knowledge of image licensing (as shown elsewhere) is limited, so thought I'd defer to another. Shame though - the OP is correct in that she looks very different now. Chaheel Riens (talk) 08:45, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
New photo
[edit]Atlantic Records released a press kit of Hayley Kiyoko, with 3 images. I believe press kit photos are based in fair use, they are uploaded with that purpose. You know more about promotional press kit photo use? Thanks. Anonpediann (talk) 13:22, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

New picture
[edit]The picture for her wikipedia page really needs to change because this one is quite old and Hayley Kiyoko looks very different now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2804:14D:5491:8850:B582:56E1:B1F3:E9C (talk) 01:37, 24 December 2017 (UTC)
"identifies as a gay woman"
[edit]There have been a number of different wordings bounced around here. You are welcome to your opinions of what you feels she "should" say or how she "should" identify or what would be simpler or more direct. Your opinion does not belong here.
In the source, Kiyoko self-identifies as a "gay woman". Please see Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Vocabulary. If you do not agree, please discuss the issue here. - SummerPhDv2.0 16:59, 2 June 2018 (UTC)
- I don't know why but.. whenever there is a page on Wikipedia that uses terms like "Gay woman" I feel like it's politically WRONG because I think that gay is the term for men and when it's used for women my mind can't comprehend it. So yeah! Emiship'05 (talk) 14:37, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
- Kiyoko identifies as a "gay woman". Whether or not you "get" that is irrelevant. - SummerPhDv2.0 02:03, 16 July 2018 (UTC)
- What you feel, think, or can comprehend is not relevant to Wikipedia. (And, FWIW, your beliefs are factually incorrect.) -- Jibal (talk) 22:09, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
We continue to have people changing this. Per WP:SELFIDENTITY Kiyoko says "gay woman", we say "gay woman". If you wish she would have said something else, that's for you to work out. - SummerPhDv2.0 02:03, 16 July 2018 (UTC)
- In this new interview she explicitly says "I am a lesbian" https://www.bustle.com/p/why-hayley-kiyokos-brows-mean-so-much-to-her-12597262 Serpent-A (talk) 20:38, 19 October 2018 (UTC)
- shouldn't "now" be added somewhere?
- she may technically be lesbian or gay as a woman, but wouldn't that make her "straight" pre-transition? 2601:19C:527F:A660:D97C:64C9:6FB:45F5 (talk) 07:23, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
Primary sources
[edit]This article relies far too heavily on social media posts. Per WP:BLPPRIMARY and WP:SPS we must generally avoid self-published sources, especially in consideration of what material is actually WP:DUE for inclusion. I have tagged the article accordingly. Personal life
[edit]In 2022 Hayley confirms her relationship with Becca Tilley whom she has been with over the past 4 years before confirming. Becca can be seen appearing in the last 20 seconds of Hayley's music video 'For the girls'. 80.189.14.199 (talk) 02:52, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
