Why is Hay Apostrophised?

Why is his first name given in quotation marks? Other sources appear to accept it as his genuine first name. This punctuation implies Hay was an unofficial nickname or pseudonym. Are there grounds somewhere to doubt it?Cloptonson (talk) 22:27, 26 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
