Santa: who wrote what?

Here, I read "Santa Claus is coming to town" was written by Haven Gillespie - period. In the Wikipedia article on John Frederick Coots, I read the very same regarding Coots.

None of either article mentions the other.

Apart from feeling half- if not disinformed twice (in fact, they co-wrote the song), I'd also like to know who did the lyrics and who the tune, or if both did words or music or everything together. Like one should get to know when visiting a source which requires contributions to be encyclopedical.
