[edit]I don't recall any scenes from the first Spiderman movie being filmed in or near Havemeyer. There were some scenes filmed in front of Low Library, but the indoor lab scenes were clearly shot on a soundstage somewhere. Aside from the Low Library rotunda, the main reading room in Butler Library, the Levien Gym and the Uris Pool, no room at Columbia has ceilings that high. Besides, it was portrayed as a biology lab, not a chem lab.
Some scenes from Ghostbusters were filmed in Havemeyer and at least one establishing shot showed the building's exterior, albeit with a made-up name. But the article says there were scenes filmed in room 309, and that's not correct. The interior scenes (the ones in which Bill Murray gives two undergrads an ESP test) were filmed in a utility room on the first or second floor.
