From an ex-"tour" guide
- There was no "Haunted Shack Oath"
- Tours averaged 10 minutes, including a 2 minute recorded intro. Tour contained endless one-liners and punchlines.
- People with Vertigo were encouraged not to partake.
- was converted to a walking maze during "Halloween haunt" every year
Visual illusions included:
- "Ames Effect" in the opening room
2nd area
- water running uphill
- Pepsi bottle rolling uphill, with the punchline "pepsi makes a returnable bottle"
- Chair on the wall, that people sat in
3rd area
- pool balls all ending up in the same pocket
- cue ball rolling up hill
- chair people could not stand up out of (usually, some people actually could)
- standing broom
4th area
- water faucet "supplied by" electricity, punchline "how does it work? It's works just fine."
- pail that never seemed to catch water
Last Area
- end room had animated Sam and Sadie (former rolling in bed, latter in a rocking chair. punchline "she was a bit of rock and he was a bit of roll")
Exit
- exit parting line was usually "say hi to John to on your way out" as guests past an "outhouse".
