Wrong Plane
[edit]It appears that the book incorrectly identifies the model of the airplane. It's apparently actually a Cessna 206 that is described. Very confusing! The "Reims-Cessna F406 Caravan II" is a much-larger twin-engine turbo-prop, whereas the plane that fits the descriptions seems to be the "Cessna 206". Cover
[edit]The caption under the cover says, "First edition cover". But the cover says on it, "Over 2 million copies sold" - indicating that it's not the first edition! 142.150.138.101 04:19, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
- well its the original design, there is a new cover now (I have the new cover edition) --Mike Oosting (talk) 23:33, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Error
[edit]It says his name is Exercist instead of Robeson. I'm new to Wiki, so I don't know how to fix it.Deathlyhallows426 22:47, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
Oh, never mind. I fixed it.70.119.230.93 05:05, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Hatchet.jpg
[edit]Image:Hatchet.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Link
[edit]The River link is not correct. Here's the right one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_River_(Gary_Paulsen_novel) Could someone please change it? — Preceding [[Wikipedia:Signatures|pstipozwutw9] comment added by W007dchuck (talk • contribs) 14:47, 5 October 2012 (UTC) then a pumpkin attacks him like a wild drinkable rampid apple.
Series
[edit]The page claims this book is one of a series of four. Only included on the page (besides The Hatchet) is one other novel in the series. Would a list of all the novels in this series be helpful to have on the page? I think it would be because a reader is left hanging without it. Le me know your thoughts. [edit]They should make a movie of this book. After all, it is a great novel of survival. 2600:6C52:7E3F:81C7:146E:8164:AC78:E3EE (talk) 02:01, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
Publication year
[edit]It appears this article has remained incorrect since this edit on 4 October 2019. The book was first published in September 1987 by Bradbury Press. You can view photographs of the first print here. Given this longstanding error, I thought it would be worth mentioning here on the talk page for posterity. Οἶδα (talk) 22:19, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
