I'll go ahead and give a shot on reviewing this article. Erick (talk) 23:49, 6 November 2015 (UTC)
Let me start start off by saying that this one of the best articles you have ever written and I believe this is a good shot at being FA. Just fix these issues and I'll be happy to pass this GA.
- Infobox
- Please use the proper rationale for album images. Wikipedia takes non-free files very seriously so you can just copy this.
- Add the language parameter to the infobox.
- For the recorded parameter, you just use "2014-15" instead of "2014-2015".
- Use the duration template for length
- If you plan to take this FAC, then you need to add the alt paramenter on the infobx
- Lead
- "The record was produced by Lafourcade and enlisted Argentinian musician Cachorro López to assist with the production, also working with Mexican artist Leonel García." → "The record was produced by Lafourcade, who was assisted by Argentinian musician Cachorro López and Mexican artist Leonel García."
- "Upon its release Hasta la Raíz received mixed to positive reviews from music critics, with critics being skeptical about her songwriting and staying on her comfort zone as an artist, while others praised her evolution as a musician and named the album one of the best pop releases of the year." Were all the critics skeptical about her songwriting? If not, add "some" before "critics being skeptical".
- "where it was certified platinum and sold over 30,000 copies in the country." AMPROFON's certifications are based on units shipped, not sold.
- "To further promote the record, Lafourcade launched the Hasta la Raíz Tour in 2015 where visited various Latin American countries, the United States and Europe." → "To further promote the record, Lafourcade launched the 2015 Hasta la Raíz to some Latin American countries, the United States, and Europe."
- Background
- "Natalia Lafourcade joined orchestra conductor Alondra de la Parra" Nationality of de la Parra?" I know it's listed on her article, but it might be helpful to readers.
- "During research to find songs for that album." → How about "While researching to find songs for that album"?
- Link tribute album
- "since the singer wanted to gave herself the opportunity to perform songs written by another person" → "since she wanted to give herself the opportunity to perform songs written by another person"
- "and is produced by Argentinean musician Cachorro López" → "and was produced by Argentinean musician Cachorro López"
- Writing and recording
- Link writer's block for readers who are not familiar with it
- "but the songs she was writing were similar to previous ones" As in songs she wrote for previous album? If so, then how about "but felt that the songs she was wrote were similar from her previous albums."
- "so she sought inspiration on Lara's repertoire" → "so she sought inspiration from Lara's repertoire"
- ""...I am Mexican proud of the positive parts that Mexico have, which are many"." put "she added" at the end.
- "The singer was also inspired by the work" → "The singer was also inspired by the works" Unless
- "The title track was written by Lafourcade and Mexican singer-songwriter Leonel García, since Lafourcade wanted to experiment with other composers on her music and they became friends while working on her album Mujer Divina and his album Todas Mías (2012)". I suggest breaking into two sentences here: "The title track was written by Lafourcade and Mexican singer-songwriter Leonel García, since Lafourcade wanted to experiment with other composers on her music. They have previously collaborated on her album Mujer Divina and on García's album Todas Mías (2012).
- Avoid using the word "you" outside of quotations.
- Can you give me an example? Javier Espinoza (talk) 01:53, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- " Lyrically it is about not letting go on the things you love", "that you can not be in a relationship anymore", " loving yourself", "go your own way." Basically, avoid using the word "you" unless it's part of a quote. Erick (talk) 02:02, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- Fixed. Javier Espinoza (talk) 02:17, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- Who is Jose Manuel Torreblanca?
- "help. López did the arrangement." → help; López did the arrangements."
- " It was composed by Lafourcade and Daniela Azpiazu for Mexican artist Paulina Rubio" → " It was composed by Lafourcade and Daniela Azpiazu and was intended to be performed by Mexican artist Paulina Rubio."
- "Upon finishing, they decided to keep to song to themselves, maybe to use it on Aziapizu's project María Daniela y su Sonido Lasser or Lafaourcade's album." → " However upon finishing it, they decided to keep to the song to themselves either for Aziapizu's project María Daniela y su Sonido Lasser or Lafaourcade's album."
- Critical reception
- " Beverly Bryan of The Village Voice" link The Village Voice
- What makes Coffee and Saturday a reliable source? Are they owned by a known Mexican company or have they been mentioned on the Mexican media?
- It's just a well-done review I found, I remove it from the box, and kept the text. Javier Espinoza (talk) 01:53, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- "pop releases of the year (2015)" It should be: "pop releases of the year" or "pop releases of 2015". There's no need to put "the year (2015)"
- Singles
- Remove the link to the Latin Grammy Awards of 2015 as it's already linked in the preceding section.
- Link the first instance of music video
- The first instance of Monitor Latino should be mentioned after it's first single ranked on its charts. Also, the charts listed is for the Monitor Latino pop charts, not the general chart.
- "with a music video also directed " → "with its music video also directed "
- "certified platinum by the Asociación Mexicana de Productores de Fonogramas y Videogramas for sales of 30,000 copies" As mentioned before shipments, not sales.
- Please link the Spanish Albums Chart and the Italian Albums to the appropriate articles (Productores de Música de España and Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana).
- Track listing
- Do you have the total length for the deluxe edition? It's not required, but it would be helpful.
- No, the deluxe edition will be released the next week. Javier Espinoza (talk) 01:53, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- "Lafourcade launched a promotional tour through Mexico, playing only theaters that were at least 100 years old" → "Lafourcade launched a promotional tour throughout Mexico and only performed at theaters that were at least 100 years old"
- Misc.
- I think think it might be helpful to readers if you include a picture of Leonel Garcia (here's from WikiCommons.
- I will try. Javier Espinoza (talk) 01:53, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
That about wraps it up. Just addressed the above and I'll be happy to pass the article. Erick (talk) 01:09, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- Alright, since you've addressed everything, I will now pass this article. Erick (talk) 02:19, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
