WARNINGs!
I tried adding warnings and they were deleted by a censor within a day. Perhaps we can hash out how to cite dosage sizes from medical prescriptions, laws from penal codes, arrests from police reports, and emergency ICD 10 billing codes later over dinner sometime, but deleting a DANGER! warning about exploding laboratories because of wikipedia policy is pretty negligent. 2:24, 30 July 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by CharlesMJames (talk • contribs) Warning labels are now required on cannabis concentrates in several geographic regions depending on local legal codes.
- As the reverts stated, we need a reliable source to cite in order to include this information. Sizeofint (talk) 17:04, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
- There are no censors on wikipedia, please desist making bad faith attacks on other editors, CharlesMJames. We arent here to give warnings, that is simply not our function, on any page. ♫ RichardWeiss talk contribs 17:21, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. I apologize, I am not trying to be an alarmist nor am I trying to make a bad faith attack. Perhaps a paragraph about product packaging warning labels could be added to the page. Warning labels do exist in popular marijuana culture and can be documented in an encyclopedia. WARNING labels about legal penalties appear in marijuana posters, big warning billboard signs, an incarceration warning on the back page of an Australian cook book, on websites, and other warnings on product packaging in the state of Washington. http://apps.leg.wa.gov/wac/default.aspx?cite=314-55-105 "(11) All marijuana and marijuana products when sold at retail must include accompanying material that is attached to the package or is given separately to the consumer containing the following warnings: (a) "Warning: This product has intoxicating effects and may be habit forming. Smoking is hazardous to your health"; (b) "There may be health risks associated with consumption of this product"; (c) "Should not be used by women that are pregnant or breast feeding"; (d) "For use only by adults twenty-one and older. Keep out of reach of children"; (e) "Marijuana can impair concentration, coordination, and judgment. Do not operate a vehicle or machinery under the influence of this drug"; (f) Statement that discloses all pesticides applied to the marijuana plants and growing medium during production and processing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CharlesMJames (talk • contribs) 18:33, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
- This is the article specifically for hash and not for marijuana (cannabis) and most hashish is still sold illegally with no warnings. We certanly do not need to say even at the Cannabis as a drug article let alone here that it allegedly isnt safe for pregnant women and minors nor do we need to mention the importance of keeping it out of the reach of children, and claimingit impairs concentration is highly contentious and would not be appropriate on this pge under any circumstances. There may be a place for refing thta such warnings exist on the legality of cannabis page but certainly not here. ♫ RichardWeiss talk contribs 19:05, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
- If you're wanting to include information on health effects then the sourcing standards are a bit more stringent (WP:MEDRS for details). We also generally do not put health recommendations in Wikipedia's voice. We would instead say something like "The World Health Organization recommends pregnant women avoid use of cannabis". That sounds good to me. This reference is the State of Washington, but a global source would be better. Hashish and marijuana laws are defined separately by the legal codes in most states. Laws and sentencing regarding hashish (and hashish pipes) vary by geographic region, manufacturing process, and amounts making mass an important part of the penal code and it is important to note that new laws have been introduced legalize only small amounts of marijuana and a few grams of hash. These laws require that hash products and cannabis concentrates have warning labels, date of manufacture, weight, origin, batch number, pesticides, production process type etc... Unfortunately I was trying to add a ref and wrote over the reflist and couldn't undo my revision. Sorry, could someone revert the page? Thanks again for your efforts.CharlesMJames (talk) 04:31, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
- Many countries do not distinguish between hashish and herbal cannabis; we should stick to a global perspective and not focus too much on North America. Your latest edits look fine. ♫ RichardWeiss talk contribs 10:29, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

Why is there both a "History" section and a "Historic use" section?
These two sections seem redundant; any reason they should not simply be merged?
Also, "Historic use" seems to heavily conflate "hashish" with "cannabis as a drug" in general, so I think it starts getting our of our topic and into simply Cannabis (drug) content.
If anyone is opposed to merging the sections, let me know. Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 06:12, 25 December 2017 (UTC)
Do we need a Citation Needed for trivia on consuption that is Well Known?
"As pure hashish will not burn if rolled alone in a joint, it is typically mixed with herbal cannabis, tobacco or another type of herb for this method of consumption.[citation needed]"
Do we really need a Citation for this? Does an article on Landscapes that states the sky is blue need a Citation? When Newton saw the Apple fall Down, do we need a Citation to believe it fell down and not up? 19:48, 22 April 2018 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.238.52.12 (talk) We do if someone asks for one, which here they have. ♫ RichardWeiss talk contribs 05:34, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
- Well, I can look up in the sky if I wish, but I'm not sure where can I look at hashish, since it's illegal here. Not everyone lives in places where hashish is part of the culture. Ahyangyi (talk) 08:53, 20 May 2018 (UTC)
Spliff / Spliffs?
I have only spent a couple of months in England (English is not my first language) - but I never heard anybody use the word "Joint". Though; together with almost every cup of tea somebody talked about "Spliffs" Should not the English pages of wiki be written in British English? (And "Joint" - if mentioned at all - as a word used in the US?) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.64.113.107 (talk) 08:46, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
- Your experience isn't relevant, cited material is. Are we writing British English? Joint is a British term, just less modern than the Jamaican import, spliff. I doubt if joint came from the US as it refers to the joining together of tobacco and cannabis, which doesn't happen much in the US. ♫ RichardWeiss talk contribs 10:07, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
Hashish is NOT a drug.
Hashish is a potent form of cannabis, a product made from cannabis, NOT a drug. THC is a drug. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:558:6045:59:55BA:3DD1:B38B:807F (talk) 19:40, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
