I added an external link to "Hubbell Sockets". Antique Light Sockets. Retrieved 2010-07-10.. It was removed with the edit summary "Little about Hubbell, but lots of errors - "Leeds", "Capitol", etc." I disagree with the little about Hubbell part. i am unsure on the errors, please provide more info. The linked site has much info about the early years of Hubbell's founding. As per the "Be bold, revert, discuss" paradigm, discuss. Abby Kelleyite (talk) 16:15, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I do wish you would discuss here instead of in edit summaries. Abby Kelleyite (talk) 16:59, 12 July 2010 (UTC) For anyone wishinto to participate in the discussion, there is a related discussion at Talk:Westinghouse_Electric_(1886)#External_Link_with_historical_info_and_photos_of_Westinghouse_founding_and_founders. Abby Kelleyite (talk) 17:06, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I converted the external refs into in-line citations, but there may be more information here if anyone is looking to expand the article.Abby Kelleyite (talk) 17:52, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why didn't US adopt the British plugs and sockets

[edit]

Why didn't US adopt the British plugs and sockets ? Had the British taken out US patents on their designs ? How did Hubbell's 1904 invention differ from the British design(s) ? - Rod57 (talk) 18:34, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The differences are partly described at History_of_AC_power_plugs_and_sockets#Early_history. Original British plugs & wall sockets were just 2-pin. - Rod57 (talk) 18:41, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
