English speaking team

The assertion that the 1928 Australasian Ravat-Wonder-Dunlop team was "the first English-speaking team to ride the Tour de France." would appear dubious given that in 1914 two of the three members of the Phebus-Dunlop team were Australian. Find bruce (talk) 05:16, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

But was the third member of the Phebus-Dunlop team also a native English speaker? As if not, then Harry was indeed in the first English speaking team. Mathmo ^Talk 13:27, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

What does the qualification "native" mean? In any event, the third member was Georges Passerieu a French rider who was born in London and known as the Englishman from Paris. While it seems likely he spoke English, in the absence of a reliable source, this claim is merely dubious rather than just plain wrong. Find bruce (talk) 20:38, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
