Dot

[edit]

Typical of Wikipedia run by one faction of the caretakers of the ENGLISH language: Searching for 'Harry J Lennix' nets nothing. You can after your failed search look inside Wikipedia articles for mention of 'Harry J Lennix' and then you'll find a link to 'Harry J. Lennix'. Notice 'J.' - there's a dot there.

The trouble is only the people in the US have this obsession with excessive punctuation; listing this actor as 'Harry J Lennix' (without the dot) is the common way to do things in all other countries. In fact the mention of 'Harry J Lennix' (without the dot) was found at a UK site.

That should be enough of a wakeup call for the US chauvinists running Wikipedia: if you insist on using this punctuation then make sure the references without it still lead to the correct articles; and if you're writing about people or things outside the US please remember that not everyone uses 'English' as you do and you are not even the primary (or definitive) location in the world for use of the language. It's called 'English' because its home country is 'England'. In most other countries your 'language' is most appropriately called 'American'.

Another good example of this is 'JK Rowling'. More often than not her initials do not have punctuation; she is very much a Brit; yet your 'American' article 'bastardises' her name.

Wikipedia IS an American web site. Why the obsession with the UK? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.202.113.201 (talk) 08:33, 14 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Picture

This article needs a picture.

Yes it does. He's a dead ringer for Barack Hussein Obama. He even talks like him. In fact he might be him.

There is a picture of Mr. Lennix on the Wikipedia page reviewing the DNR episode of House(tv series). Would that suffice? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wmlschlotterer (talkcontribs) 01:31, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
